Her videos are pretty fun too, a mix of illustration, photo collage, craft pieces and video -fun!

Nans House

Spent the weekend at my grandmas house, I haven't done that in a long time -years even. My grandma lives next to an apple orchard on a large rural block.

Revisited a whole pile of childhood memories... When us grandkids were little we used to play on a beautiful little white go-cart, I found this after much searching out the back under a pile of junk was a little upset to see it was far beyond any type of repair, see below...

My Grandads old art studio/shed... the place is such disrepair it's planned to be torn down so I thought I'd better get some good pics before it all disappears. He used to make all these great wooden toys for us including the go-cart above.

Boat hair

I know three posts in one day, greedy but I can't help myself.

Curiosity got me when I passed by an image of Marie Antoinette and her crazy amazing hair do's with boat ornaments, it got me to thinking why boats? I mean it's not just her who had them they are prevalent throughout but then again she was a style icon if not THE style icon of the time - we could have her to thank or to blame?...

Short history lesson: The boat turns out to have been more than just an ornament, it represented a ship called La Belle Poule to celebrate the victory of a battle fought. Apparently Rococo hair styles were all a big competition -who could create the most novel and elborate hair do that would have the wearer gossiped about for weeks. Like all fashion trends the boat was a fleeting design that would have lasted only a few weeks before it had made the rounds at every ball and became 'old News'

John Galliano for D I O R

Am completely blown away with John Galliano's fantastic 2010 Haute Couture range for Christian Dior, absolutely amazing.

It would be great if everyone went around wearing garments like this in everyday life, screw them being just for show or 'special ocassion' I for one would feel pretty damn amazing walking down the frozen foods section of the super market swishing my layers to the clip clop of gloriously high heels.

She sews these great leather products with iron on decals/transfers, take a looksie. I especially like the patchwork quilt idea...
