Came across this illustrator today, fab pattern use!
Couldn't really find anything out about them though! If anyone else can glean any info go ahead!
All I got is their Pixivi name! 'Borbone'

Still here!
Had to share this with you all!
Frederique Morrel -Brilliantly amazing taxidermy tapestries! I could do with one of these...
Found this on a pinterest comment...much better than I could have summarized!
'Frederique Morrel is a talented French designer who creates beautifully unique tapestry on deer sculptures! She uses polyurethane taxidermy molds, covers them in vintage needlework and then finishes them all off with real antlers. Morrel was moved to create these after she found out that her deceased grandmothers’s needlepoint was accidentally thrown away. This led to the launch of a line of products based solely on vintage and recycled material. Upon close examination, you’ll notice a story of the idealized life stitched together on top of the sculptures.'

Visited a couple of the street art lane ways today nestled in amongst the Melbourne CBD... Can't wait to blow them up to A3 size, print them out and tack them up!
(Most of the below are from Hosier Lane)

Whoops, neglected.
Sorry Blog!
Won't lie - haven't been incredibly busy, just more preoccupied with Pinterest! Darn it.
Guess what?

I leave for Melbourne, Australia tomorrow -no not for a holiday! Am giving it a month to see how I like it and if I can get a job in something related to the creative industry.
So am furiously packing and re-packing my suitcase with as much of my life as I can possibly stuff in it. Am slightly concerned with clothing options due to the crazy weather they have there. Given the latest heat wave was in the 40's and the stories I've heard of the unpredictability of the weather, I've tried to accumulate layers of clothing that will work both ways however -slightly difficult! Oh well they say Melbourne is awesome for shopping!
Victoria Market here I come!

Just a quick little piece which I completed yesterday as part of my drawing process at the Arts Trail to show people how I work. For those of you keen to see the finished product -here you go!
(I had also completed a bright little kingfisher which I sold to a stall visitor yesterday and forgot to take a picture for my records! oh well!)

Table set up

Table with added drawing area

RED DOTSSSSSSS!

Well! I must say it was a smashing weekend at the Arts Trail! What started off as a very slow -oh no what am I doing here Saturday...turned into a yay can we keep going Sunday!
Thanks to everyone who came along and showed enthusiasm and support for my work. It was great chatting to people about my process -several people were adamant they were all drawn on the computer so after explaining and setting up a drawing area on my table top people were better informed!
Am going to be right busy until the end of the year with five newly commissioned pieces to have done for the Christmas rush!
Best get to it!

Process of the latest illustration! Terrible photos but you get the idea!
My beautiful cousin got engaged last weekend and asked me ages ago to draw her a bunch of flowers, so this is what she got as a pressie.
Look what arrived!
I may have taken advantage of a Letraset online sale and purchased these little limited edition beauties! (retail in NZ for $9 per pen, buy online from the UK for 1.99GBP each or 14GBP for 12! ).Plus the Neon colour range was on sale so I thought why not?! You never know when you're gonna need some pink neon!

Have been organising myself for the Arts trail next weekend! Everything is framed up ready to go furiously trying to add a few more pieces just in case!

I know you'll probably say -where have you been living all this time? under a rock?! but I've just come across the most amazing African wax fabric patterns and can't get enough of them to the point where I'm in pattern overload and am planning my imaginary trips to Africa to buy some and watch it all being made.
I apologise to all of you who take a sneak peek or follow my Pinterest boards... I may have gone a wee bit crazy on them but it's okay -you see I'm not addicted, I don't have a problem and can definitely stop when I want to. Just one issue with that -I don't want to...
On another note (actually the same note really...) Check out this crazy pattern clash lover, Italian designer Stella Jean who incorporates African pattern into her collections at an amazing level!

I know he's not that new according to the world wide web, but I've just come across a brilliant french designer Maxime Simoens. His dresses are beautifully structured with an architectural feel to them, the cuts hit the body in all the right places. Stunning!
